The Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony is celebrating its 27th season!
The Youth Symphony is a volunteer run organization. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is a strong community partner and provides in-kind rehearsal and concert space for our use. The Chippewa Valley Symphony, another community partner, works closely with the director to nurture artistic opportunities.
The Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony accepts applicants based on their musical ability, without regard to sex, race, religion, disability or national orgin
Mr. Eugene Power became the Music Director and conductor in 2006 when Ivar Lunde retired. Mr. Power brings an enormous amount of energy and expertise to the Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony. He is Director of Bands at Eau Claire North High School and serves as the Assistant Conductor for the Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his current professional duties, he has taught in the Eau Claire, Fall Creek and Osseo-Fairchild school districts and maintains an active performance schedule, having made appearances as a guest clinician for concert bands and jazz ensembles in the region

The mission of the Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony is to provide a unique opportunity for area youth to develop and showcase their artistry in the symphonic tradition and to enhance their lives and the cultural environment of the communities they live.
